Healthcare
Power of Attorney
This is a document valid in most states which allows you, while you are competent, to choose someone you trust and love to make a medical decision on your behalf. This is usually in place when you are incapable of making your own decisions, such as during surgery or unconscious from an accident. This document permits someone you trust to make the same medical decisions you would if you were capable.

Living
Will
A Living Will is a document in which your wishes concerning the continuation or removal of medical treatment in certain conditions. These conditions are usually after you have been fully examined by more than one physician and they determine to a medical certainty that you are either permanently unconscious or you have a terminal condition where death will occur in a short period. This document will allow you to make the decision about your life, rather than requiring loved ones to determine the decision at a time when they will be upset and emotional.
Power
of Attorney
A Power
of Attorney is a written document
stating that one person gives
another person complete control
and authority to represent him
or her. Typically, the document
is signed by both parties.
